Captured with an infrared filter, these portraits explore the uniqueness of each individual, through this fusion of technique and expression, highlighting what is often hidden in plain sight.

During the farewell ceremony, the body is cleansed with flowers while people sing sacred songs or recite prayers to guide the soul on its journey to meet the gods. In Balinese Hindu tradition, a happy and peaceful farewell is believed to be essential for the departing soul to have a positive encounter with the divine.

From the shadows of wayang kulit to the elaborate wooden puppets of Java, these photographs seek to highlight the diversity of styles and traditions throughout Indonesia.

Since I arrived in La Española or Quisqueya, I was surprised to discover  that between Haiti and the Dominican Republic there are multiple differences and similarities, which have brought them closer and further apart politically and socially since the founding of both nations. Sometimes, one believes that Haiti is a country far away from the Dominican Republic, that its humanitarian crisis is located on another continent and not on the same Caribbean island.
